Federal Way women claim sexual assault by ghost

Written by: robert - Posted in: General / News

FEDERAL WAY, Wash. — Two local women claim they’ve been sexually assaulted by ghosts. According to the police report, the two women told officers a paranormal person have been placing sensors on their bodies and having intercourse with them at their apartment in the 28600 block of 25th Place South. One of the women said the assault began when she lived in Kent and followed them to Federal Way. The second woman said her encounters have just recently begun. The maintenance man in charge of the apartment complex told KOMO 4 News the women keep calling him saying the ghosts are raping them on weekend nights. He finally told them to call police. It’s doubtlessly an odd case for cops, but it’s right up Ross Allison’s alley. He’s a ghost hunter. ”Cases like this don’t pop up that often,” he said. With the emergence of the Sci-fi channel’s hit show “Ghost Hunters,” paranormal popularity is soaring. And Allison says as the number of ghost shows grows, so do spirit sightings. “And so they start to label every little interesting thing happening in their home as paranormal when it might just be a house creaking,” he said. Candid questions help ghost hunters sort the eerie from the unstable. “A lot of times you’ll find it might be medications that they’re taking or something psychological,” Allison said. The ghost hunter took a walk through the apartment complex where the women say a spirit has haunted them for two years. He said he would need a psychic to check for the presence of a ghost. Police declined comment on the unusual report. They said they do not have any investigative leads. And the women themselves - well, they weren’t anywhere to be found, just like the ghost. Source: http://www.komotv.com/news/local/18025524.html

UFO hunter expects more Phoenix lights

Written by: robert - Posted in: General / News, UFO

eff Woolwine is a UFO hunter. He believes the Phoenix lights are alien ships that are drawn to the mountains in the Valley.

Woolwine points to petroglyphs while hiking on South Mountain. He says the ancient drawings are proof that people have been seeing lights in the sky for thousands of years. He says people back then made drawings like Valley residents use their camcorders today.

“I hope we see one today,” Woolwine says. He believes sightings will increase and hopes locals have their cameras ready.

Skeptics say there is a simple explanation than aliens from another planet. In 1997, the military said flares were responsible for the “sightings.”

Woolwine says the Phoenix lights will bring a whole new level of to the Valley, with people who want to try and catch a glimpse of a UFO.

Ghost tours go bump into Ipswich’s night

Written by: robert - Posted in: General / News, Ghosts

STANDING among the weathered tombstones of Ipswich Cemetery in a black trench coat and trilby hat, self-proclaimed dark historian Jack Sim could easily be mistaken for one of the supernatural figures in his spine-tingling anecdotes.

Mr Sim, who leads tours in Brisbane and on demand in Ipswich chronicling the cities’ dark past, plans to run monthly haunted Ipswich ghost tours from July.

He would take in sites such as the Ipswich Courthouse, The Railway Workshops and the Goodna Cemetery.

In the lead up to the tours, Ipswich locals are invited to share their own tales of things that go bump in the night to add a local flavour.

“I’m researching local legends and ghosts and trying to find the truth in the story,” Mr Sim said.

From mysterious sightings at the Old Flour Mill restaurant to the creepy crunching of footsteps on a gravel path in the Ipswich cemetery, the tour has on occasion also come with its own unscripted creepy moments.

Mr Sim said to witness the supernatural was a tour bonus.

He said there were also a number of local mysteries he was hoping to track down, such as the statue in the old Cribb and Foote building of one of the owners, which reportedly contained his ashes and any stories regarding the Goodna asylum and the Goodna and Ipswich cemeteries.

“I’m hoping to find fresh leads on a number of sites,” Mr Sim said.

The tales of the supernatural will be used as anecdotes during the tour.

Ipswich residents also have the opportunity to lead the tours, with Mr Sim searching for local ghost guides.

“They have to be a good storyteller as well as having an old-fashioned style of speaking and a passion for passing along local history and story telling,” he said.

People wanting to share their own ghost story can contact 3344 7264 or email research@jacksim.com.au.

Area UFO sighting under investigation Wisconson

Written by: robert - Posted in: General / News, Ghosts

Local law enforcement officials are investigating several reports from individuals claiming to have observed an unidentified flying object hovering in various locations across Barron County.
According to Barron County Sheriff Tom Richie, the dispatch center received numerous calls from individuals at approximately 10 p.m. Monday reporting a possible UFO. Barron County deputies on duty that night reportedly observed the object.

Kristina Hauser, 20, of Chetek, was traveling with her family near the Rice Lake airport at about 9:40 p.m. when they saw the object. Hauser explained that the object, which initially appeared yellow, was flying toward Rice Lake and was dipping very low and moved very fast, heading back and forth across the road. She stated the object was hovering around their car for about a mile before it headed back to the airport. Hauser also reported that after she was dropped off in Rice Lake, her family witnessed the object again on the way back to Chetek, hovering about 20 feet above their vehicle. They described it to her as a triangular or teardrop-shaped object with purple and blue lights. They could hear no sound coming from the object, and a red laser like light was shining on one end of it to the ground. The object followed their vehicle another four miles before it just disappeared. Hauser’s father, Glen, also spoke with various local police officers who had gotten calls on the object as well. While working at Wal-Mart, Kristina also spoke with a Rice Lake police officer who had talked with local hospitals and the Federal Aviation Administration. All confirmed helicopters were grounded and there did not appear to be any air traffic in the area.”By the way it moved, having no sound, and th way it looked, I knew it was not from this planet,” said Julie Hauser, Kristina’s mother. “It was the scariest thing.”In a brief interview, Rice Lake Air Center Manager Jerry Stites explained that there were employees of the airport in the Rice Lake area who observed what appeared to be aircraft landing between 9-9:30 p.m., but no employees were at the airport when the sightings were reported. After reviewing security tapes, Stites added that to their knowledge, no planes landed at the air center Monday night. The helicopter at the airport also remained grounded until about 3 a.m. He added that he monitored the aviation radio until abut 9 p.m., and there was no activity in the vicinity, but explained that did not mean there were no aircraft landing. Calls to Cumberland Memorial Hospital and Sacred Heart in Eau Claire confirmed there were no airport runs to the Barron or Rice Lake area. Information on helicopter runs from Lakeview Medical Center in Rice Lake, Luther Hospital in Eau Claire, and Luther Midlefort Northland were not available at press time.Source: http://www.zwire.com/site/news.cfm?newsid=19490510&BRD=1134&PAG=461&dept_id=150853&rfi=6

Columbia’s very own Ghostbusters

Written by: robert - Posted in: General / News, Ghosts

group of paranormal investigators in Columbia is raising eyebrows by seeking out haunted spots, spending the night and airing the findings on cable access television.Calling themselves the Kindred Moon Paranormal Society, the enthusiasts have been on air for three months and have already scared the daylights out of workers at Jack’s Gourmet Restaurant on the Business Loop, “reunited” a wife with her deceased husband in Hartsburg and picked up bone-chilling audio at the University of Missouri’s Ellis Library. They spent the night Saturday at the downtown library in St. Joseph, where a ghost named Rosie is purported to walk around reference shelves in high heels and switch on computer monitors after hours.”Anybody can tell a good ghost story, but can you prove it?” asked group founder and lead investigator Michael McDonald. “We can’t make everybody a believer, but if we catch stuff on audio and get video, you can’t deny it. People always say, ‘Seeing is believing.’ Well then, let me show you something.”McDonald, 35, looks the part of a Van Helsing. A hulking, heavily tattooed man, he bears a deep scar on his forehead from a battle with cancer. He said his family moved around a lot when he was a child, probably living in more than 20 houses before he was out of high school. He spent a lot of time alone. “I’d be out in the yard just playing with sticks or with my GI-Joes or whatever, and I’d start to notice stuff,” he said.McDonald is a computer technician who also makes horror movies. He’s been accumulating electronic equipment and doing “ghost hunting” for 16 years. He has gathered an inner circle of six associates who research haunted sites, study film and audio and do technical work for the episodes. All their work is offered free of charge as a “public service.”The TV episodes, which air at 8 p.m. Thursdays on CAT-3, are slickly produced and backed by creepy synthesizer music. Most episodes progress from interviews with people who live or work in the haunted location to infrared-lit footage of the hunt. The episodes end with a “reveal” where subjects squeal and bug their eyes as they see evidence of the supernatural.● The first on-air investigation took members to a Hartsburg house owned by 73-year-old Kathryn Sapp. Sapp’s daughter called the group after Kathryn inexplicably smelled cigar smoke, perfume and pig odor; she suspected her husband, Rex, a smoker and pig farmer. She also reported “standing at the kitchen sink, washing the dishes or something” and feeling “like there’s somebody behind me.”The group spent six hours in the house and picked up several EVPs, or electronic voice phenomena. These voices, members said, are inaudible to the human ear but are recorded on the group’s hypersensitive digital voice recorder. On one recording, a whispering voice appears to say “no” when investigators ask it to reveal itself by moving the electro-magnetic meter. At another point, a voice seems to say “my heart.”Sapp and her daughter believe the first voice was her husband’s and the second might have been that of her brother, who died after suffering from heart problems. “You can imagine how I felt. It made chills run over me,” Sapp said. “It doesn’t scare me. It’s more comforting than anything else.”Sapp said her biggest concern is that she plans to sell the house and is worried about the effect the paranormal findings might have. “I hope it won’t hinder the sale,” she said.● On Jan. 12 at Jack’s Gourmet Restaurant, the group spent six hours investigating persistent rumors of strange activity. Servers at the 80-year-old building, once a gangster hangout, reported odd sounds and piano playing. One bartender said he inexplicably heard his wife’s voice call his name when he was alone in the building.Investigators recorded more EVPs, including a man humming, two piano keys playing and a voice responding, “Yeah,” when asked whether it could move dishes. Two employees nearly jumped out of their seats when they heard the recordings. “You see, I was always skeptical, now I’m a little creeped out,” one said.● The group said its most convincing evidence came Jan. 22 at Ellis Library. Given permission to film until closing time at 2 a.m., investigators prowled the stacks. Toward the end of the session, member Shelley Chirillo got a foreboding feeling walking down a certain aisle and called others to try to coax a spirit out of hiding. They didn’t get much, but upon listening to the audio, they picked up two ghostly voices. One said, “I want to,” and another said, “Jesus Christ.” Both are clearly audible.A night-vision camera left alone facing a row of book shelves appeared to record a shadowy presence crossing the aisle. Ellis workers declined to participate in the “reveal” section of the program.”If we sat down and saw” the video, “how could we know whether it was real or not,” MU Libraries communications director Shannon Cary said. She added that she’s heard rumors of strange activity, but no actual reports.Society members said they enter every location as skeptics and try to “debunk” the rumors. They invite anyone to inspect their evidence, available on their Web site, www.kindredmoonproductions .com.”We will not falsify our findings,” McDonald said. “I’m not going to put my name out there or this company’s name out there to get its neck chopped off.”

Johnson County reverses approval for ghost hunt at poor farm

Written by: robert - Posted in: General / News, Ghosts

IOWA CITY, Iowa - The Johnson County Board of Supervisors has changed its mind about allowing a paranormal team to look for ghosts at the county poor farm and mental asylum.

Board members last month approved an investigation of the Chatham Oaks buildings, but they recently voted down the idea after receiving negative feedback, said Board Chairman Rod Sullivan.

He said the board initially did not oppose a request from the Johnson County Historical Society to have a paranormal team conduct a free investigation at the site, which is now a private residential care facility for the mentally ill.

Then a flood of e-mails and a request from Chatham Oaks to block the investigation forced the board to reevaluate its decision.

“I think the rules have changed a bit because Chatham Oaks stepped up,” said board member Terrence Neuzil. “Obviously, the cards have changed a bit.”

Historical society officials said the controversy began in March when they passed along a request from the Carroll Area Paranormal Team to do a scientific study of the site. The team planned to spend one night at the site to look for paranormal activity, using equipment such as thermal imaging cameras and voice recording systems.

Brandon Cochran is the museum operations assistant for the historical society, which gives tours of the site. He said one of the most common questions from folks who tour the 153-year-old poor farm is whether it’s haunted. Cochran said he had hoped all speculation of hauntings would end after the study was completed.

Now it seems the questions will continue _ but some society officials don’t seem to mind.

Shaner Magalhaes, the historical society’s executive director, said many people from outside the state have shared their interest in visiting the poor farm since word of the paranormal investigation spread.

“We could have put out a thousand news releases about the poor farm and not created this reaction,” he said.
