Delay for UFO followers

Written by: robert - Posted in: General / News, UFO

A flight scheduled to mark the 30th anniversary of the sighting of unidentified flying objects over the Kaikoura coastline has been postponed until April.

Organiser Paul Davidson said not enough people had booked, so it was not viable to fly. A lot of people who had wanted to come could not because of the time of year, he said. He hoped it would go ahead from April 11 to 13 in conjunction with the Classic Fighter Airshow at Omaka.

University sends UFO course into deep space

Written by: robert - Posted in: General / News, UFO

Hong Kong - A UFO group in Hong Kong has condemned the city’s largest university for cancelling a course on ufology because, it said, of faculty objections to the subject.

The course was set to begin last September as an optional subject for University of Hong Kong students in a joint project between the university and the Hong Kong Institute of Ufology, local newspaper Apple Daily reported on Monday.

The course was delayed and discussions were held on offering it at a later date after some academics expressed reservations about its content, Moon Fong, a committee member of the institute, told reporters.

Doug on trail of UFO sighting

Written by: robert - Posted in: General / News, UFO

THERE was something very strange in the skies above Grafton last month.

Doug Moir was weeding the garden of his Sutton Street home on November 22 when he looked up and saw the strangest flying machine he’d ever seen.

Mr Moir said the object had a similar shape to a plane, but was very different. There were no visible engines jet or propeller no visible wheels or wheel compartments; and no visible cockpit.

When the object began to turn, Mr Moir saw a fascinating display of colours, consisting of a blend of orange, red and yellow, on top of the wing.

“It was out of this world. I’ll never forget that painting. The sun was behind me too, so I had very good vision,” he said.

Adding to the mystery, Mr Moir said a small plane was following the mystery object; sitting about 100 feet above it and slightly behind.

Surprised he didn’t see any media reports about the mystery object in the ensuing days, Mr Moir paid a visit to the South Grafton Aerodrome; but the members there couldn’t throw any light on the subject.

Readers are encouraged to contact The Daily Examiner if they have any idea what the mystery object flying over Mr Moir’s Grafton home that day could have been.

UFO spotters focus on outback skies

Written by: robert - Posted in: General / News, UFO

SYDNEY // There has been another UFO sighting in Australia’s rugged Northern Territory after a group of farm workers and backpackers reported seeing mysterious lights hovering over an outback cattle property.

“We were sitting out on the pergola having a barbecue and we see this light coming towards the house,” said Ray Aylett, who runs Muckaty Station north of Tennant Creek. “It wasn’t an aircraft and was too low to be a satellite and it kept on coming before it flew away.

“The next night it came back. About a week later another one came towards me down at the front gate blinking orange – red, orange – red. I was waving to it to try to get it to come down to have a yarn to me but they won’t come near you.”

Sightings of UFOs have been reported across Australia for decades, and have been documented by amateur enthusiasts from a host of groups including the UFO Experience Support Association, Dark Matters Investigations and Cosmic Connection South Australia.

Over the years many of these so-called ufologists have flocked to the tiny Northern Territory settlement of Wycliffe Well.

“We’re recognised as one of the four hot spots in the world for UFO sightings and they’re seen pretty regularly here,” said Lew Farkas, a former sailor who manages the local caravan park.

“Over the years I’ve had quite a few sightings. The most common is lights zipping around the sky doing fancy manoeuvres but when they’re close up you actually see the shapes of them. Traditionally they’re triangular shapes, metal-type objects with portholes and they change shape. The last six months have been hot for sightings.”

There are various theories as to why this barren corner of the Australian continent has such an alleged abundance of UFOs. There is speculation that interplanetary visitors are attracted to the region’s “natural energy lines” and its isolation.

Others delve into the murky world of secret military projects to come up with their own explanations.

“I think it’s a combination of human experiments and alien-type UFOs watching what we’re up to,” Mr Farkas said.

The Blue Mountains west of Sydney is another remote area that boasts frequent unexplained activity.

For half a century, Rex Gilroy, 65, has gathered a mass of evidence at his home in the town of Katoomba that he said proved that extraterrestrials do exist.

“I’m not a fruitcake,” he said. “I’ve seen everything from mystery lights in the sky to saucer-type craft that hovered over Katoomba late one afternoon a few years ago. I was near a shopping centre and there must have been about 100 other people standing around with their shopping bags looking up in the sky at this blue-glowing craft.”

Mr Gilroy, who heads the Blue Mountains UFO Research Club, said the object was 30 metres wide.

“I don’t think they’re out to do any harm,” he said. “They’ve had plenty of time to do it. It seems they are interested in us. I don’t believe a lot of the stories we get about beings that are reptilian in greens and blues. They probably have the technology that can propel a craft from one planet to the other in the time it takes us to drive to the supermarket. We’re still in the Stone Age by comparison.”

But what of the legions of sceptics, who believe that UFOs are fictitious and comic book nonsense?

“There are people that don’t understand these things but the most vocal critics are the ones that know nothing about the subject of their attack,” Mr Gilroy said. “I say they should read some of the more sensible literature on these matters. There are ex-air force personnel who’ve written books on these strange objects they’ve seen.”
Other Australians claim to had direct contact with alien vessels.

Colin Norris, the director of Australian International UFO Flying Saucer Research, said his encounter with a space ship left him in a coma.

“This craft was a round ball with a purple hue around it and it came towards me and then it shot straight into the sky at a great height and sat there,” Mr Norris said from his home in Adelaide. “It was then that I got this sharp bolt to my head. It was like someone jabbing me with a hot needle.”

UFO investigators believe there has been a massive international cover-up of alien sightings. The British and French authorities have begun releasing declassified secret military files on UFOs and the Australian government is doing the same, although so far no documents have revealed that beings from other worlds have visited Earth.
Mr Gilroy is confident the truth will eventually emerge.

“There has got to be super-civilisations out there somewhere in the universe that are hundreds of millions of years ahead of us in intelligence,” he said.

UFO enthusiasts urge Obama to release X-Files about alien sightings

Written by: robert - Posted in: General / News, UFO

UFO aficionados are urging Barack Obama to release classified documents about sightings of alien spacecraft, spurred on by support from within his own White House team.

They have written to the president-elect, pressing him to reveal the contents of America’s X Files.

In a letter, the Extraterrestrial Phenomenon Political Action Committee asks Mr Obama to ‘end the six-decade truth embargo regarding an extraterrestrial presence engaging the human race’.

They hope to have garnered 40,000 signatures in support of their campaign by the time Mr Obama is inaugurated in January.

The enthusiasts are encouraged by public statements from John Podesta, who is running the president-elect’s transition team, and Bill Richardson, the Governor of New Mexico, who is expected to land a cabinet post.

When he was the White House chief of staff under Bill Clinton, Mr Podesta was in charge of a project to declassify 800 million pages of intelligence documents.

He said in a press conference: ‘It is time for the government to declassify records that are more than 25 years old and to provide scientists with data that will assist in determining the real nature of this phenomenon.’

Gov Richardson is a fellow UFO enthusiast. He has written a forward to a book on the ‘Roswell Incident’ in New Mexico, where an alien spacecraft crash is said to have landed in 1947.

Campaigners believe the corpses of humanoid aliens have been locked away by the government.

Gov Richardson has urged the Pentagon to disclose what really happened, and last year insisted there had been a ‘cover-up’.

The committee wants the U.S. to follow Britain’s example in making public reported contact with UFOs.

Stephen Bassett, Executive Director of the Extraterrestrial Phenomenon Political Action Committee, told the Sunday Telegraph: ‘The release of documents in Britain and France has put huge pressure on the US. It makes the government here look pretty stupid.

‘I think we are seeing the Democrats moving towards disclosure.’

The group wants military services and intelligence agencies to brief the incoming president about what they know.

They also urge Mr Obama to open congressional hearings ‘to take testimony from scores of government witnesses who have already come forward with extraordinary evidence and are prepared to testify under oath.’

UFO hot spot

Written by: robert - Posted in: General / News, Paranormal Events, UFO

A SPATE of UFO sightings on the Central Coast has attracted the attention of the UFO and Paranormal Research Society of Australia.

The society has convened a conference at Gosford this Saturday.

Society secretary Dominic McNamara has urged locals to attend and discuss any paranormal sightings and to question a panel of experts.

Mr McNamara said UFO sightings are regularly reported, and by everyday people.

He said the Gosford area was a UFO hot spot.

“There was a sighting over the Northern Beaches and Central Coast area a few months ago,” he said.

“People reported seeing a low-flying, white, triangular object moving silently across the sky,” he said.

“Reports stated it was moving as fast as a jet. It was completely silent but if it was a jet it was moving too fast to be so silent.”

Mr McNamara, an engineer, said his science-based occupation had not prevented him from exploring the possibility of extra-terrestrial life.

“People ask how an engineer could take this seriously when this science is loaded with ifs and buts,” he said.

“We are a group trying to find the truth, to discover if there really is something out there. I pursue this topic with passion and logically.

“We visit reported sites and rule out any variables using scientific equipment.”

The Next Dimensions conference will be held at The Willows Quality Inn this Saturday, November 29, from 9am to 5.30pm.

Tickets cost $33 and are available for purchase from the society’s website at www.ufosociety.com.au.

A police helicopter narrowly avoided colliding with a UFO over Birmingham, a report has claimed.

Written by: robert - Posted in: General / News, UFO

The pilot managed to swerve out of the mystery aircraft’s way while he was on a routine police surveillance task over the city centre earlier this year.

The helicopter was also carrying two police observers during the journey in May.

All three reported seeing a strange aircraft with two continuous blue/green lights.

The incident is detailed in a document compiled by experts from the Airprox Board, which records near misses and reports them to the military and air traffic control units.

The report stated: “The front observer saw unidentified lights flying around their aircraft. The pilot established visual contact, as he manoeuvred the aircraft to avoid a collision and to identify the light source.”

The object was less than 100m away and flew around them.

The pilot told the Airprox Board he thought the intent may either have been sinister or just someone messing around.

It was initially believed that the object was a radio controlled aircraft and that it was purposefully flown around the helicopter.

The report stated: “He (the pilot) believes the lights may have come from a radio controlled fixed wing aircraft, the lights being to assist with night flying.”

Despite searching the area with a thermal camera, the pilot was unable to find any signs of radio-controlled model activity.

And the British Model Flying Association ruled out the possibility, saying the mystery object was flying too high to be a miniature craft.

Nick Pope, who previously worked for the Ministry of Defence’s UFO desk, said: “A helicopter was nearly blown out of the sky.

“This is a very disturbing incident which needs to be thoroughly investigated by the MoD and the Civil Aviation Authority as well as other near misses.

“The conclusion on the report is unsatisfactory especially when this aircraft came within seconds of a collision.

“It is a very interesting case especially when you look at the eyewitnesses. They are credible and reliable sources who have experience in night time flying.”

“This sighting clearly illustrates that whatever one believes about UFOs, this incident raises important air safety issues and should be taken seriously.”
